Green Juice Detox

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Lately I have been trying to get back on the health wagon. I found out that kale was now available in the grocery stores and wanted to try it out (as it is a great superfood). So here is my end result. Aside from getting healthy, I have sparked my passion in juicing! Forget $6.50 boost juices that are full of sugar, I am rediscovering the ways of healthy juicing. So I found a great detox recipe online and to be honest it does work!

So putting aside the bowel movements, the only thing I did not include in this mean green juice was cucumbers (based on the original recipe).

What you will need:
  • 5-6 leaves of kale (without stems)
  • 2 celery sticks (medium sized without leaves)
  • 1 small knob of ginger (skin peeled)
  • 2 medium/large green apples
  • 1 medium lemon (skin and seeds removed)

This will make approximately 2 medium/large cups of green juice. The above picture is what the juice looks like when quantities are doubled. If you would like it sweeter add more apples, but adjust to what suits you best!

I hope you will enjoy this detox juice as much as I do. This juice is best when fresh so keep that in mind with the quantities you may make.

Haul 3 - OPI Mega-haulin'

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I think this picture truly explains it all! I went a little bit OPI nail crazy! I was so excited when my parcel arrived in the mail with these nail colours! As you can see there are more darker and blue coloured nail polish, as most of my nail polish I currently had at the time were more pinks and reds. This OPI haul will most likely be the last nail polish haul for a while (as I think I have an excess already and would like to finish using them rather than just looking at them).

The above picture is just an overview of what I had purchased. Below are the breakdown of nail colours and their names.

I really can't wait to try these out! Also I will be taking photo's of swatches once I buy swatch sticks (the current swatch chart is really annoying to work with).

Please note that some of these items are from collections that are no longer sold in stores (such as the Shrek, Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean and the more recent Bond collection).

Until next time,

Honey Citron Tea Review

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Honey Citron Tea is a honey with lemon pieces.

My mother introduced me to this Honey Citron tea. Over the course of my exam and study exam prep duration, I have been addicted to this stuff! It helped to keep me warm during the cold winter months we having in Australia. Although it is so simple to make, having it available on the shop shelves has made it much easier to reach out and use this item.

I love this simple drink and I am so glad to share this with you!

What I love about this product:
  • You can drink this hot or cold
  • Perfect for all seasons
  • It helps soothe the throat (if it is sore and irritable)
  • It has lemon and honey! (what isn't there to love!)
What I dislike about this product:
  • The lemon preserve at the bottom is great but I tend to use a strainer to prevent choking on random bits of lemon
  • it can be hard to keep the jar clean from spills as you are dealing with honey and lemon bits that like to slip and slide

My recommendations:

I love this hot and during winter with a nice heat pack! I can't wait to try this for summer by adding some ice to it. Instead of drinking orange juice, I tend to opt for drinking this as my 'sweet treat' drink. Also it is also a great change from the standard green tea I am constantly drinking all the time.

One this to note is that you may need a few tablespoons of this to make up a drink (depending on the size of your cup). And make sure to STIR the lemon and honey together in the jar before putting it into your cup!
